The Sun’s rays pierce through the clouds,
Making pools of vibrant ochre,
It’s mid-November but as sunny as July,
Suffice to say, the weather’s a shocker!
It’s almost Christmas, the festive season’s begun,
Everyone’s decking their halls with holly,
But instead of torrents of snow and frost and hail,
We have showers of sunlight, “so jolly”!
Students trudge home in the blazing heat,
Lugging their backpacks with a curse on their lips,
Wishing for Novembers like the before,
Full of snowmen and hot cocoa and christmas farm trips!
ALAS! Global warming has taken its toll,
Having four cars isn’t as “swag” as you think,
For instead of snowflakes like in the years passed,
We’ll have ruthless rays ’til we’re positively pink!
A very “merry” Christmas, indeed!
