They crackle and pop and hiss and melt

To glory, in the microwave

This traditional theatre tidbit’s

Turned me into a salivating slave

With oodles of churned butter and

A warm and fluffy taste,

It makes me automatically speed-eat

Like as if I’m in a haste

But I’m definitely not, I’m OBVIOUSLY not,

I’m in the OPPOSITE of a hurry

If anything, I want to SAVOUR it,

NOT pass it in a flurry!!

But it’s just SO YUM that I can’t stop,

One fistful, then anotehr,

I’ve got to make sure that I eat more

Than my equally-ravenous brother!

After 30-full-seconds of stuffing my face

My fingers brush the bottom of the tin,

But there’s no time to feel the gut-busting despair,

Because Mom’s already bringing the next tub in!!

[Bless her]

Midnight Snack

A hungry dwarf, that I am

Craving a frizzy, soda can

Its half past twelve

My stomach rumbles

I’m hungry and

My poor brain tumbles

I feel the starvation

creeping up

Oh how I long a

Sippy cup

Of milkshakes with bits of

Pulpy fruit

That will calm down my famished

Sweet tooth

My mind swirls

Round and round

As I hear the midnight gong

Beating, beating, beating away

Marking the beginning

of a beautiful day

I don’t care

Don’t ask me why

All I want

Is a cranberry pie

To fill my

enormously enormous belly

And then laze

In front of the telly

I long, I long a Midnight Snack

I raid, I raid the cookie rack

And find a box of biscuit

Can’t explain how much I’ve missed it

Because I’m happily munching

My teeth are merrily crunching

My tummy is busily scrunching

The much awaited Midnight Snack!

Everybody has a favourite treat

Salty, watery, spicy, sweet

What’s YOUR prefered edible snack??

The one that makes your lips go >SMACK!!<

Are they donuts?? Bagels?? Cans of coke??

Or mushrooms?? Tomatoes?? Homemade dogh??

Can you squeeze it around and turn it to juice

Or squash and mash it to chocolate mousse??

Is it chewy, soft, healthy or junk??

Does it smell of berries or stink like a skunk??

Well, whatever it is, I’m sure it’s great

And I know that you could eat a whole plate

But now it’s time to start a poem anew

On raindrops, the beach  or dog poo??

Ice Cream

They come in all colors

One for every mood

Ice creams are classic treats

The epitome of comfort food

Vanilla, chocolate, butterscotch

Green chilly and blue mint

Are flavors that delight your tongue

And cause your teeth to glint

Too bad they aren’t god for health

Make you as plump as a bull

But no matter what the Doc says

We’ve still got a freezer full!!

Lunch Time

The steaming casseroles

Of veggies, packed with spice

The big, brown dubba

Of soft, white, gleaming rice

Mum places them on the table

And fills the jug with juice

And serves us yellow bananas

For an energy boost

How tempting is the food

That Mum has made today

It’s time to put down my pen

And rush to eat away!!

I sneak up to the kitchen drawer

And climb up the slab

Of granite that leads to

Chcoc-deprived rehab!!

It has Hershey’s mint ‘n’ nut

And Galaxy bars galore

Dips, chips and jellies

Plus, lots more!!

Mum thinks I don’t know

About this tiny paradise

This little nook of goodness

Where candy is downed in a trice!!

But I know WAY better

And until sis sneaks

This fairyland is mine

Complete with all the sweets!!

The midnight feast!

Today, my sister and I asked our mother to go to the nearby store and  buy chips, biscuits and candy, because we are having a midnight feast! I’ve read about midnight feasts in many Enid Blyton books, such as St. Clair’s and Malory Towers.

I was really happy and excited. My parents knew all about this, but we made them promise that they would act like as if they knew nothing about it. We bought lots of chips, tic-tac boxes and 2 miniature pens. I and my sister decided to not sleep that night and just in case we go to sleep, we were borrowing my fathers phone to set an alarm for twelve o’ clock. This was my first midnight feast and I was really happy. The whole day had been wonderful, because , when I woke up, I played with my puppy and then after lunch, I went with my father and sister and swam in a pool.

So you see, it was a wonderful day. And the best part was, it wasn’t over yet! My sister agreed to go with my mother to buy all the stuff. She bought a pack of Bingo Mad Angles and three packs of Lays. She also bought two packs of tic-tac!

My father and mother watched Spider Man 2 with us before we went to sleep. We soon woke up as the alarm went off. We dressed up and went out in the hall. We wanted to go out in the courtyard and have a moon-light feast, but our mother forbade us to.

We had a packet of the Lays in the hall, playing Uno. Then we had another packet in our bedroom. The rest of it was had while we watched television. My sister dozed off in the middle. Our plan was to water the garden, make breakfast in bed and open the doors and windows for or parents. But as you’ll would’ve guessed, I went to sleep too! It was a mistake, really. I just wanted to lie down when I suddenly fell asleep. I woke up at 6:30 am, finally. My parents had just woken up, and I told them how we fell asleep. They laughed. We had had a good time, but we fell asleep in the middle.

I swore to myself that the next time we’ll hold a midnight feast, I’ll do all the things that I wanted to do now. And so I did! But that’s, another story!
